The av edition GmbH is a specialist publisher for architecture and design. The abbreviation “av” stands for “audio visual media”. The publishing house was founded in 1992 by the architect, Norbert W. Daldrop. From 2004 onwards, it has been owned by Bettina Klett, Norbert W. Daldrop and Dr. Petra Kiedaisch and has its headquarters in Stuttgart in a building where earlier printing and publishing were carried out.
The av edition GmbH publishes about 30 books titles a year, many of them are in two languages, German and English, which are sold internationally and are available in bookshops all over the world. The publishing house also brings out publications for companies, although it specialises in interdisciplinary design fields such as interior and exhibition design, scenography, communication in space, product and communication design. On the subject of company literature, the experienced publisher provides consulting and also supports companies in the design, editorial work, production and recommends the respective appropriate specialist authors, for example for a company’s anniversary, a documentation of the construction of a building or a presentation book for its employees.
Amongst the authors of the publishing house are Werner Aisslinger, Volker Albus, Florian Arnold, Dirk Meyhöfer, Andreas Schulz and many more. High-value print media is produced such as manuals, documentation, brochures or commemorative publications for the book range of av edition GmbH; these are an optimal supplement to the publication of yearbooks and manuals for professional work, high quality picture books and monographies.
