Regarding to constraints of a very high-speed train (300km/h crash test) for a mass transport (556 seats by train), the agency Saguez & Partners designed a new TGV where SNCF passengers enjoy life moments when working, dining or relaxing. The new ergonomics seats and the area around is optimized to accommodate the larger average size of passengers, with wider armrests and 10% more leeway for the adjustable recliners. In 1st class, these are pivoting seats, turned around for each journey to face the direction of travel — providing greater comfort and wellbeing. The designers have fitted out every seat for new working habits: individual USB ports, seatback desk and reading lamp with soft lighting, and mini-tray for your laptop or smartphone. The agency designed a two-sided LED lamp with direct and indirect, warm or cool lighting, to provide lighting that changes to suit each time of day. The bar carriage offers various seating or standing positions to break up the monotony of the journey, travellers are welcome to enjoy their meal in shared booths. TGV L’Océane has 10% more capacity than the traditional double deck TGV.
