The new XL tram for Leipzig represents transparency, more comfort and an asymmetrical design. In addition to innovative technology such as the front lighting and the unique surface ceiling light, the train has panoramic windows and the best ergonomic conditions for its drivers and passengers. A clear design language and the functional design of the interior make the journey with the low-floor tram even more pleasant and comfortable. In particular the new vehicle series impresses with the overarching design theme of asymmetry which in addition to the functional origin also brings practical benefits. Unique feature of the vehicle is that the head and tail are not identical which makes the direction of travel immediately clear to the passenger. From the first idea to the roll-out IFS Design from Berlin accompanied the Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe. Since July 2017 the XL is in passenger service. These cityscape-dominating vehicles are an important prerequisite for shaping the changing mobility market for the most dynamically growing city in Germany.
