The fourth-generation Rio has a progressive new design defined by straight lines and smooth surfacing, giving the car a distinctive new look and mature character. The front has a broad grille which is integrated into the newly-designed, more sculpted projection bi-function headlamps and the fog lamps are moved out and upwards, adding greater visual width for a stronger overall look. In profile, the backwards cabin, longer bonnet, more upright C-pillar and shorter rear overhang give a stable, solid and self-confident stance.
The modern new interior presents sculptural forms and an ergonomic layout. The lines running the width of the dashboard give the cabin a wider appearance. The centre console is angled towards the driver, providing a sportier, driver-focused design with a more premium character. On top of the console, an easy-to-read “floating” touchscreen is the interface of the new infotainment system with latest connectivity features. A new 120 ps downsized, turbocharged engine ensures a lively performance and low emissions. And in the safety equipment, as one of the first cars in class, the Rio offers Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian recognition.
