The Niro is without precedent in the Kia line-up. Engineered from the ground up as a dedicated hybrid vehicle, it combines the practicality and aesthetic allure of a compact crossover, with a sleek, aerodynamic body and subtly sculptured surfaces. With its compact SUV shape, the sleek proportions and the relatively wide stance, the Niro represents a shift away from the “drop-shaped” profile of conservatively-styled hybrid rivals. And the outstanding aerodynamics (0.29 Cd) contribute to low fuel consumption (3.8 litres/100 km).

Despite its compact on-road footprint, the Niro offers comfortable interior dimensions with generous space for all occupants and great cargo capacity. Clear lines running the width of the cabin separate the areas of the dashboard, while the ergonomic centre console is angled slightly towards the driver. A number of on-board technologies improve comfort, convenience and safety, including latest connectivity features and active safety systems like Autonomous Emergency Braking and Smart Cruise Control. And the optional towing functionality – rare amongst hybrid cars – emphasises the Niro’s practicality.
