Huan, a nurse who finds herself stuck in her current job and a dying long distance relationship, meets Mr Chang, a cancer patient who is trying to find the family he abandoned before it’s too late. An undelivered letter brings the two together and provides an unexpected solution to their problems.
Drawing together the two astronomical events (the exclusion of Pluto on 2006 and the completion of the “Pluto flyby” by the interplanetary space probe New Horizon on 2015) as a grand metaphor for the main protagonist’s inner transformation, To explore in To Pluto is the complication of human relations, separation from those both near and far, and the changing perceptions of self and our world as circumstances evolve. It’s a film about a quest on acknowledging one’s individuality and integrity through the experience of loss and the struggles we have associated with our social identities.

All missed chances lead to a greater whole.
