Rariga Winery is a small family-operated business in Modra, a town in Slovakia’s Lesser Carpathian Wine Region. The winery grows grapes in vineyards whose stony soil is difficult to cultivate. The by-products of this cultivation are hard solid rocks used to build vineyard houses and strengthen walls. So the main feature on winery labels is an irregular wall with a hidden logo, something like a treasure. The label’s distinctive black and white drawing is accentuated with relief printing and metallic foil.
The design has not only helped distinguish the winery from its numerous competitors, but also tells the story of how hard work it is to produce wine.
