“Hobe” is the ancient name of Tamsui District, North of Taiwan. Because of the excellent geographical location of its harbor, Hobe attracted a lot of foreigners to settle down and built a number of historic buildings. This artwork is designed by splicing simple wood chips and slices to convey a purely historical memory. Lines of the wood chips and slices are so arranged to give an intuitive expression on the historic evolution of local buildings. Meanwhile, the handmade paper wrapping gives the product a concept of space, and the “!” symbol reflects directly the idea of living demand. Presented in a simple style, this artwork is an attempt to reflect the memory on historical buildings.
