The transport and storage situation of flexible endoscopes in hospitals shows previously existing weaknesses. In the existing transport and storage situation of flexible endoscopes in hospitals are an issue. The goal in the product development was to find a hygienically safe solution which can be integrated into the reprocessing concept and supports a functional separation of so-called clean and unclean work areas. Special focus was on the digital recording and documentation of process data. The “endoSTORE neo” is a central unit in the endoscope reprocessing workflow. After the disinfection step, the endoscopes remain safe in transportation basket and are connected directly without further manual intervention in the storage cabinet. Connected to the compressed air system, all channels of the endoscopes are permanently flushed with filtered, medical air and outside by fans. This firstly ensures a complete drying of the device by preventing recontamination during prolonged storage period due to residual moisture. The control software of the drying cabinet monitors all process parameters. This system sets new standards in patient safety.
