The purist design of „split“ is characterized by straight lines and a graphic appearance. In this case a steel pipe is cleaved to form a stable sub-structure. This construction is covered by a pressed steel sheet that is imbued with a carrying handle. The steel tube is brought into shape by 3D laser cutting. To abstain complex bending machines in the further production process, the material is weakened specifically in the bending areas. Thus, the table gets its final shape by hand. Aim was creating an interface between traditional and modern production technologies to save working steps and play with this newly gained aesthetics.
