The legendary Polish watch making brand Blonie has come back to life with the first new watch in 45 years. Blonie was the only large scale manufacturer of watches in Polish history. The company stopped producing time pieces in the 1960s as a result of political pressure. The new Blonie watch is inspired by a cult model “Zodiak” from the 1960s, the characteristics of which are preserved through the dial design – crossing lines on the watch face – but with a modern twist. The logo was hand drawn by calligrapher Adam Romuald Klodecki and is based on the classic Blonie logo. The watch was designed with everyday use in mind, as the perfect companion to both elegant and casual attire. The 40 millimeter watch case is made from high quality stainless steel (316L) and the dial is protected by convex sapphire glass. The watch’s transparent back shows an automatic movement (Miyota 8215) with a red, custom rotor as a clear association to the Polish national colours. Each watch comes with two genuine leather straps: crococalf and a rally-styled strap inspired by the automotive racers of the times of the original Blonie watch. All of the watches are numbered and come in a limited edition of 500
