The new Vista Alegre collection for 2015 is inspired by the Art Deco period, bringing to porcelain and crystal the shapes and patterns that were influential in the evolution of numerous artistic expressions, among which cinema, architecture and sculpture, profoundly marked by this artistic style. Through the recreation and modernization of the broadest of visual references, Vista Alegre features original pieces where luxury is highlighted and paying homage to the Art Deco spirit, a synonym of freedom and creative innovation.
Animals and human figures in motion were recurring patterns in Art Deco. In this piece, the decoration comes alive through a snake ready to attack – a symbol of the forbidden pleasures, danger and highly-alcoholic drinks, such as Absinthe, which, when excessively drunk, constitute a real poison.
