The MELSEC iQ-R series device performs automated machinery control. Developed from a Universal Design perspective, it is readily usable not just by highly skilled technicians, but also by less experienced workers and users around the world. The case is wider in the front to provide an expanded control and display unit while maintaining the same footprint as conventional models. This makes printed characters easier to read, and enables installation of a dot matrix LED with a greater display capability. The initial diagnostic LED lights needed for discerning errors are now in a horizontal row at the top level of every unit. This improves information delivery and eases pinpointing problem locations. The controls and the wiring are placed behind a vertically opening cover that swings completely out of the way, allowing users free control access with either hand and reducing interference with adjacent parts and wiring.
