During the development of the RECA ratchet, function determined the design. Our objective was to create an agreeable, clear geometric form with clean structures based on the working processes in trade and industry, mechanics and technology. The eccentric positioning of the grip creates more clearance below and thus more finger freedom during use. The ergonomic shape and slightly structured surface of the grip guarantees an excellent hold. The unit switchover level concept of the RECA ratchet also provides clarity at first glance. The direction of rotation of the gear can be detected immediately, even when working overhead (clockwise: the switchover lever is straight “P”/counter clockwise: the switchover lever is slanted). The medium toothing of the gear with 48 teeth is extremely robust, smooth, and very stable. Equipped with a safety mechanism, the ejection button guarantees a fast and easy socket spanner change. This prevents the socket spanner from accidentally coming off the output square.
