Reproduction of sound is a project on the visualization method of sound. When people hear a sound, they can recall a behavior that fits in with the sound. For Example, when they hear a “clap” sound, they can associate it with the behavior of clapping. Moreover, when people see a behavior, they can associate it with the sound created by the behavior. We can find a new possibility in visualizing the sound from this relationship of association between sound and behavior. That is, this project is focused on the relationship of association between sound and behavior and intended to suggest a new visual expression for the sound through a piece of paper, the physical media. It reproduces the actual sound(pounding sound, sticking sound, drilling sound) and the actual behavior(pound, stick, drill) that caused the sound in onomatopoeia(rap/ thump, prick/ poke, puff/ pop), the script, and fabricated behaviors(cutting and folding behaviors using a piece of paper). The script is dismantled and combined by the behaviors of cutting and folding a piece of paper. The project aims at delivering the meaning of sound visually to observers through the relationship between sound and behavior.
