Getting carried away and rambling on is a reference work about communication and its means. The book is written in two parts, which communicate with each other via a register. The first part captures an abstract pictorial world, embracing citations and a narration about Evi’s and Paul’s everyday life. In this narration, there are allusions to the history of communication, and therefore the second part of the book – a chronological lexicon. The design supports the progression in the development around all kinds of means of communication. It represents the progress, the possibilities and the huge network that time has endowed us.
