Following two reprints and a total number of 25,000 copies published, the publishing house Deutsche Standards EDITIONEN in Cologne undertook a complete revision and enhancement of its „Lexikon der deutschen Familienunternehmen“. Since it first appeared on the market in 2009, the dictionary has become a standard reference and has already achieved a reputation as a modern classic. The revision features portraits of more than 1,000 companies with informative articles, images and special presentations. Editor and publisher Dr. Florian Langenscheidt edited the dictionary in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Peter May, founder of INTES, the leading consulting firm for family businesses. Editorial designer Mike Meiré and his team are responsible for book design and art work. The new layout is modern and restrained, even more clear and visually attractive than before. The central graphic image, created by the US-American artist Bryan Nash Gill, pictures the growth rings of a tree, symbolising stability and transgenerational growth.
