In October 1992, the American University of Beirut launched a four-year Graphic Design Program, offered by the Department of Architecture and housed within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture; it came to exist in response to the high demand for such a program in Lebanon and in the region. It was the first program of its kind in the Middle East. Both exhibition and book (submitted) produced, commemorate 20 years of professional work by the program’s graduates. Little did this group of graphic designers know that their relentless pursuit of excellence would change the face of the region.
