The Lederer Ragnarsdóttir Oei studio has been practising architecture for more than three decades. Their guiding principle, of first considering the city and then the house, makes many of their buildings seem as if they have always been there. The design of the book adopts this attitude and places the buildings in their respective contexts. Detailed before-and-after location plans, using the buildings’ footprints as initials, finely nuanced renderings of their plans and large scale black-and-white photographs in duotone sketch the stance of the architectural practice: fully committed to details, unobtrusive and there as a matter of course.
