“100 Foodblogger haben wir gefragt”, which translates as “We have surveyed 100 food bloggers”, is a unique cookbook that presents 100 seasonal recipes by 100 bloggers.
Bloggers are the new stars of the kitchen
It is hard to imagine the world of food today without bloggers. They are the new trendsetters, cooking with passion, trying out and attempting culinary specialities with a certain individual sense of ease. They are the young voice of society, who take things as they come and value creativity – and not only when it comes to cooking. But their creative passion for good food and aesthetics shines through in their inspired recipe creations. Peppered with lovingly taken photos and a careful attention to detail, these creations are bound to make your mouth water and encourage you to give the recipes a try.
A book project with a difference
It didn’t take long for the first cookbooks by individual bloggers to appear on the scene. But why focus only on one, when you can get 100 in one book? This was Simone Goller’s idea when she started out on this book project. Together with her team, she spent months trawling more than 1,600 German language blogs that focused on food. The most promising bloggers made it onto the carefully selected final list and were invited to take part in the project. The aim was clearly defined: the intention was to create a colourful mix of recipes that would take the reader through all four seasons of the year; from a warm asparagus-bread salad in spring, via a crunchy Baileys-Mascarpone ice cream for summer and a goat’s cheese tarte with grapes in autumn to a small German Christmas biscuit cherry tartlet in winter.
Two in one: recipes and new blogs
The call to bloggers was a resounding success. It quickly became apparent that the flood of recipes submitted could have filled more than just one book. That is why the magic number of 100 was agreed on and recipe ideas from bloggers in Austria and Switzerland were also included. The result is a magnificent collection of recipes. Unlike conventional cookbooks, this book does not have a uniform style, but bears the unmistakable signature of each individual blogger. Alongside appetising photos, a list of ingredients and cooking instructions, each recipe also briefly introduces the blogger and his or her blog.

From there you can work your way through to autumn, then winter and spring and finally reach summer 2018. The four seasons are grouped by topic in the book and are organised by colour. Recipe for 4: Watermelon & feta salad with mint
For the salad
400 – 500 g watermelon, De-seeded and cut into pieces that are 2 cm in across and 1 cm thick
50 g rocket, washed
100 g feta
1/2 shallot, cut into fine slices
1 hand full of walnuts, roughly chopped
1 level tsp sesame seeds, roasted
2 stems of mint
For the dressing
1.5 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp honey1/4 tsp sumac (optional)
Season with salt and pepper
Preparation in two steps
- Place watermelon, rocket, feta, shallot, walnuts and sesame in a bowl. Pick mint leaves off the stem, lay them on top of each other, roll them up and cut them into fine strips, then add them to the bowl.
- To make the dressing, mix the lemon juice, olive oil, honey, sumac, salt and pepper and pour it over the other ingredients in the bowl. Toss and serve garnished with a mint leaf.
