The Alpine A-110 was a sports car classic by Renault in 1962 – despite its faulty workmanship and lack of comfort. It was built until 1977. Its successor couldn’t live up to the glory of past days. For its 50th birthday, the French car manufacturer revived Alpine: The 110-50 is a 880 kilogram light concept sports car, made of carbon, with a mid-engine and 400 horsepower. Patrick le Quément, former chief designer of Renault, had nothing to do with either version. But his design for the Twingo proved to be a long runner.
