Ton Hollander, born in Hengelo (Gld) in the Netherlands, studied graphic design in Utrecht and Eindhoven. After working for various design agencies in the Netherlands, he moved to BBDO in Düsseldorf in 2000, then on to Hamburg in 2004 to reinforce the founding team of Kempertrautmann. In 2006, he returned to Düsseldorf where he took over responsibility for the BBDO Team smart as creative director.
Today, he looks after this client from the Berlin office as executive creative director. He has been awarded prizes at numerous national and international competitions, including the Cannes Lions, ADC Germany, D&AD, ADC Europe, ADC New York, Eurobest, Clio Awards, New York Festivals, Red Dot Design Award, One Show, LIAA London, Andy Awards and Euro Effie Awards.

Good communication design moves the viewer to get to grips with the content and it visually conveys a message.
Which of your projects has been
the biggest challenge for you so far?
The development of the car2go brand. Creating a brand from scratch without the benefit of a background – from the development of the name, the corporate identity
and the car design via the brand story and philosophy right through to translating it for the real and virtual world.
