Tom Cadera, born in the Bavarian town of Ochsenfurt, studied industrial design at the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK Braunschweig). While he was doing so, he already started working for companies operating in the fields of medical and mechanical engineering. He founded the CaderaDesign agency, which has been developing and designing intermedial projects since 1992 and is specialised in industrial design and user interface design, including apps. Between 1997 and 2008, Tom Cadera also worked as lecturer at the Furtwangen University (HFU). The CaderaDesign team consists of industrial designers, communication designers, media designers, usability engineers, IT specialists and design engineers.
What do you understand by good communication design?
Good communication design is when the user can find
his/her way around quickly, securely and intuitively and, on top of that, feels good while doing so.
What are the qualities a good
communication designer must have?
Creativity, tenacity, a solution-focused approach, but also patience, good people skills and empathy.
