The architect and designer Masayo Ave founded her own design studio “Ave design corporation” in 1992. Since 2001, Masayo Ave has also been taking a leadership on the advanced sensory design research by conducting numerous multidisciplinary design workshops for university students and young professionals. Masayo Ave founded an experimental design institute of Haptic Interface Design at the University of Arts in Berlin during her guest professorship in 2004-2007.
The following two years, she was appointed professor and head of product design department at Estonian Academy of Arts, and lately guest professor of the textile and surface design department at Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee in 2012-2013. She is also conducting special courses in architecture department at Hosei University, Kanazawa College of Arts in Japan since 2009.
Her European base has been moved from Milan to Berlin since 2006, resettling her new design studio MasayoAve creation and Haptic Interface Design Institute in Berlin. Beside the projects of design development and research, Masayo Ave is active in the development of new design educational programs for children and youth in cooperation with various design institutes, including DesignSingapore Council and Red Dot Design Museum Essen, Germany.
