Professor Dr Ken Nah graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in industrial engineering from Hanyang University, South Korea, in 1983. He deepened his interest in human factors/ergonomics by earning a master’s degree from Korea Advanced Institute for Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1985 and he gained a PhD from Tufts University in 1996.

In addition, Ken Nah is also a USA Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE). He was the dean of the International Design School for Advanced Studies (IDAS) and is currently professor of design management as well as director of the Human Experience and Emotion Research (HE.ER) Lab at IDAS, Hongik University, Seoul. From 2002 he was the director of the International Design Trend Center (IDTC). Ken Nah was the director general of “World Design Capital Seoul 2010”.

Alongside his work as a lecturer he is also the vice president of the Korea Association of Industrial Designers (KAID), the Ergonomics Society of Korea (ESK) and the Korea Institute of Design Management (MIDM), as well as the chairman of the Design and Brand Committee of the Korea Consulting Association (KCA).
