Alexandros Michalakopoulos, born in 1983, and Andreas Ruhe, born in 1984, are both certified graphic designers who studied at the Akademie für Kommunikation (AfK) in Stuttgart and obtained their degree in communication design from the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf.
While Alexandros Michalakopoulos was part of the team initiating the Designreport Greece as part of a two-year research project, Andreas Ruhe carried out research and worked in Remolino, Buenos Aires. Following freelance work for a number of agencies and companies at home and abroad, they founded the Morphoria Design Collective in 2012 together with other designers. Both are regular lecturers at the AfK.
Which of your projects has been
the biggest challenge for you so far?
Our Collective. Giving our approach and work a framework that suits us, in doing so creating a space for ourselves
in the design world and implementing projects that we ourselves had initiated, such as the Deaf Magazine.
With whom would you like to work?
We already do so internally: with members of the Collective. Externally, with all those who enrich us: people with completely different jobs, abilities, views, curious hobbies, off-the-wall interests, remarkable commitment and who know their own minds.
