Alexander Neumeister

Alexander Neumeister is an industrial designer for the field of high-tech. He is a graduate of the Ulm School of Design and specialised as scholarship holder of the Tokyo University of Arts in the fields of medicine, professional electronic and transportation.

The German ICE trains, the magnetic monorail Transrapid, the Japanese Shinkansen “Nozomi 5oo“, as well as numerous local trains and underground railways in Japan, China and Brazil, and the underground railways C1 and C2 for Munich are some of his best-known works.

His last Transrapid was motive for a special stamp regarding design in Germany. Besides his projects for German companies as for example MBB, Deutsche Bahn, Thyssen Henschel, BMW or Siemens, he has been a design consultant for Hitachi/Japan for 21 years. From 1983 to 1987 he has been a board member and later vice president of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid). Alexander Neumeister lives in Germany and Brazil.
