The behaviour of the TV audience has radically changed within the digital transformation. Therefore the second german television asks itself again and again the same question: When, where and in what form does content need to be available? Thereby it is a consistent step of the channel to give the audience access to a wide range of digital offer on all devices. Television formats like “NEO Magazin Royale” show what can be done: Digital pre-broadcasts or binge watching-packages are desired and will increasingly be available in the ZDF-mediathek. This is made possible with a complex backend structure, which guarantees the best performance even with a bad internet connection – no matter if Android smartphone, iPhone, tablets, desktop, Apple TV, Google Chrome or Amazon Fire TV.

With the launch of the new digital world on all devices the ZDF presents itself with a new presence since October 2016. For the first time the portals and the ZDFmediathek are grown together and got supplemented by new features.
