Create a store concept identity for the Japanese market, offering miscellaneous goods from Scandinavia. The target is Japanese people inspired by the Scandinavian lifestyle – culture, living, fashion and design. The first store is now open in Osaka, Japan. The identity needed to be scalable and dynamic to meet future opportunities and challenges. The brief was to create an identity that was Simple and Kawaii (cool and charming in Japanese).

The name Blå Bär means blue berries in swedish. A typical Scandinavian berry. The berries symbolizes the small miscellaneous goods sold in the store. The letters Å and Ä are typical letters for Swedish spelling. The dots are brought to life and become eye catching graphic elements communicating the miscellaneous goods. The letters from the logo with its dots are used in a dynamic way to create patterns and motion – a bold and fun graphic toolbox.
