Moritz Halfmann (*1972 in Darmstadt) completed his apprenticeship as a carpenter and then in 1997 worked for a year at the Vitra Design Museum. In 1998 he started studying design at Köln International School of Design (KISD) and in 2001 completed an internship at Frogdesign.
Jörg Mennickheim (*1973 in Kassel) also worked as a carpenter before he studied at Köln International School of Design (KISD) and ENSCI Les Ateliers in Paris. In 2002 he worked for Paris based Designers Ronan+Erwan Bouroullec.
In 2005 they founded the design studio HALFMANN MENNICKHEIM with a special focus on corporate architecture and product design.
Since 2009 Moritz Halfmann and Jörg Mennickheim have run design workshops for the Vitra Design Museum, the Istanbul Design Biennale and other institutions.
