Red Dot attaches the greatest importance to the protection of your privacy and personal rights. Therefore, compliance with the statutory provisions regarding data privacy is self-evident for us.
Collection and processing of data at every access (the so-called server logfiles)
Whenever you visit our website, Red Dot 21 (www.red-dot-21.com), your Internet browser automatically transfers data to our web server. This data contains the following: the name of your Internet service provider, the name of your browser and its version, your operating system, the referrer URL (i.e. the site visited just prior to this one), the country / the location, the IP address, the web pages that you visit as well as the date, the time and the duration of your visit. This data is saved separated away from the other data that you enter when you make use of our web offerings. It is not possible for us to allocate this data to any particular person. We utilise this data for statistical purposes only and only anonymously. This data is then deleted.
Clicking on links to partner sites
Red Dot 21 utilises two types of links to partners: a) “Go to shop now” on a product detail page and forwarding to another website or to an online shop b) “Find out more now” and forwarding to another website or another landing page of a manufacturer where you can obtain further information with regard to the product or to the manufacturer’s offer In both cases, an anonymous identification of your IP address occurs when you click on a link to a partner; this is because a fee can now be allocated to us. This will have no effect on you and no additional costs will be incurred by you. You can find further information under Section 8 (“Amazon Associates”) or under Section 9 (“Other partner programs”). In addition to the above, the anonymous identification of your IP address will be used for fraud prevention purposes.
Creation of user profiles
For the creation of user profiles, we are permitted to use pseudonyms for advertising, market research or for the need-based design of our Internet offers. You have the right to object to the use of your data for such purposes. We are not permitted to combine user profiles with data which could identify the owner of the pseudonym.
Capture of company data due to a contractual relationship (registration and so-called “memberships”, see General Terms and Conditions of Red Dot 21, Sections 1 and 3)
At the time of registration and the acquisition of a membership and the related entry into a contractual relationship with us that is established or changed with a manufacturer, a designer, a design studio or a publisher (hereinafter abbreviated to “company”), we shall capture and use your data to the extent that it is required for this purpose. In particular, such data contains attributes based on which you can be identified and it also contains information with regard to the beginning and the end, as well as the extent of the utilisation of the web offer and also other information that you have made voluntarily at the time of registration, creation of your profile and product presentation. In particular cases, on demand by the responsible authorities, we are authorised to pass on information with regard to this data (related to the company) to the extent that it is required for the purpose of legal prosecution or risk prevention. This is so that the constitutionally established authorities or the German Military Intelligence Service can discharge their duties with regard to the obligations imposed on you by the authorities or that intellectual property rights are maintained.
